Early Head Start is a year-round comprehensive
child development program.
It is federally funded to provide services to infants and toddlers. Low
income residents who are pregnant or have children ages 0-3 are eligible
for the program.
The Social Services and Parent Involvement components are designed to
encourage the growth of parents as the primary care givers to their
children. Parent trainings are conducted to allow parents to receive the
latest information on various topics that each face in training their
children.
Early Head Start has two program options - the Center based Care for
infants and toddlers and Home Based services to pregnant women.
Parents must provide proof of income, valid birth certificate, social
security card, and insurance information. An up-to-date day care
immunization record is also required.
Presently, we have two centers (one in Greenwood and one in Saluda).
Centers are opened Monday though Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
