GLEAMNS Recognized at Statewide Spring Conference

Congratulations, GLEAMNS!

Several individuals and programs were recognized at the 2018 SCCAP & SCSHSA Statewide Spring Training Conference, which was held in Myrtle Beach during April 2 - April 6, 2018. GLEAMNS brought home the following awards:

• For the Head Start Awards...
  • Promoting Oral Health Award - GLEAMNS
    • This award recognizes exceptional leadership and commitment toward improving the oral health of Head Start children and their families.
  • Thelma Brown Leadership Award - Phyllis Lott, GLEAMNS staff
    • This award is presented to an individual who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities while working in some capacity with Head Start in either the local program, various committees, or associations.
      
• For the South Carolina Community Action Partnership (SCCAP) Awards...
  • Staff of the Year - Pearlie Jones, GLEAMNS staff
    • The award is presented to a Community Action staff who has made extraordinary contributions, services, or activities on behalf the agency over a period of time.
  • Innovative Program of the Year - GLEAMNS Summer Career Exploration Program
    • This award is presented to a program exemplifying innovativeness that gives upward mobility to low-income communities and families, demonstrates collaborative efforts, self-sufficiency goals and positive impact on families during 2017.
  • Charles H. Turner Career Development Award - Roxie Dilleshaw, GLEAMNS staff
    • The award is presented to a Community Action staff presently enrolled in college or planning to attend college by September of this year.
      
• For the South Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) Awards...
  • Weatherization Program of the Year - GLEAMNS
    • This award serves to identify the agency that consistently demonstrates program commitment through their initiative, made a significant impact toward improving the management capability and service delivery with the Weatherization Assistance Program.
      
• For Professional Certification...
  • ROMA Certification Award - Zsaquez Flucker, GLEAMNS staff
    • This award is given in recognition of completing the requirements to become a Certified Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) Trainer. The staff member participated in the National ROMA Peer-to-Peer Training project for Community Action staff seeking professional certification and is now a Nationally Certified ROMA Trainer (NCRT).
